Wired Up

Here is my 3th video about my 3d printer. I have wired it up, but I stile have some soldering to do. I still waiting for the electronics, what partly has arrived. See my previous post. Some parts coming from oversee so it may take 2 weeks.

Arduino Mega 2560 and stepper controlers

My Arduino Mega 2560 board has arrived. I installed the firmware on it last night.

Also my stepper motor controllers has arrived, I will have some soldering to do with them.Unfortunately these are much larger than it should be, I will have some issues inserting them to the shield


The shield electronics has not arrived yet.

Stepper motors has been installed

I have finished installing the stepper motors, and I finished the cold part of my extruder.

Extruder cold part

I started to assembly the extruder. I have Wade's geared extruder. But a few parts is missing. Hopefully I can get them before the weekend, and I can finish it up soon.

Stepper motors have arrived

My new stepper motors have arrived! I can't wait to add them to the frame. I have ordered them from Zapp Electronics. They have delivered it in 3 working days. Sweet!

XYZ axes

 XYZ axes are fixed. The lower thick sheet is in it place. One of the X axes fixing bolt and nut break out from the plastic and one of the Z axes clamp gluing were unsuccessful, after I tried to separate the X axes from the Z axes motor holder. Because it had stuck together, when I was glueing the z axes clamps.

So watch out when you gluing the Z axes clamps.

However, I think I will able to fix it with a washer.
Well, this part can be the first piece, what I will print out for replace the broken one. ;) 

After First Day

First Day

I have started to build the frame. It took about four hours to get most of the frame together. I find it very stable because the triangle frame.

Building Started

My 3d printer parts has arrived from eMakers.com.
I'm building a Reprap Mendel Prusa.
I have all the bolts and nuts and bars, and all the plastic parts.
I will order the electronis and motors and other bits and pieces later.
I would like to finish the frame first.

My first impression is it will be much smaller then I have imagined. :)
It is actualy looks more cool in real life than on the images.
It is really exciting.
